My Health Journey

How did I get here?

Small Steps result in BIG CHANGES. If I can do it, you can too!!

I am thrilled to be a postnatal nutrition and fitness expert working with moms to help them find more balance by reducing stress, improving energy and stepping them towards their individual health goals.

I have so much passion for this because I WAS this person.  I have been working in Corporate America for 20 years.  As I continued to move up the ladder, I noticed that work was consuming me and my stress level continued to rise.  I knew my health was deteriorating but I kept ignoring it thinking to myself that…”when I move on to the next stage of my life, I will be healthier” or “I will start tomorrow” or “I am eating healthy because I had the burrito with veggies vs. the pizza”.

One day I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror as I was getting out of the shower.  I looked more closely.  I had gained so much weight that I DIDN’T EVEN RECOGNIZE MYSELF.  That was a terrible feeling.   Not only physically, but mentally.  I used to be FULL of confidence and radiated energy.  Now, I was a shadow of myself.

My breaking point came when my stress manifested itself as physical pain.  I was TOO YOUNG for chronic back pain.  I was working around the clock but now I was determined to prioritize my health.  It was at this point that I decided to seek help and eventually was certified as a holistic health coach in 2010.  Through this program, I learned how to reduced my own stress, eat healthy…I mean really eat healthy, not eating what I convinced myself was healthy… and found the balance that I desparately needed, all the while losing over 35 lbs.  My biggest transformation was my mindset.  Once that changed and I knew the right things to do, losing the weight was surprisingly very easy.  I only wished I knew about this years ago.

Now I am a mom of two incredible boys.  With my first son, i was in great shape and recovered quickly.  However, with my second son, I wasn't allowed to workout, had a c section and a much more difficult recovery.  This left me with a diastasis recti and a weak pelvic floor.  At 39, my recovery took many months rather than days with my first.  This is when I became a MuTu certified pro, so that I can help others with these same postnatal issues.

Given my own experience, I wanted to work with others to support them through their health journeys to show them that it’s not as hard as it seems.  I have been lucky enough to work with amazing clients.  The impact has been astounding.  Given these transformational changes, I have decided to dedicate my life to working with people to support them and their quest to live their healthiest and best life.
